The symbols represent our traditional combined ideals of both Indian Guides and Princesses Programs. The tan background represents the earth from which food grows, and the green edge stands for nature and trees, which purify our air. The eyes of the Great Spirit are watching inward from above and below, with their companion four winds of heaven as the red circles and bars. The encircling feathered arrows from the eyes represent our services to each other, our family, and our community as a father-daughter-son organization. The encircled heart of the Princesses represents love and The Golden Rule. The sun represents the day and the passage of time, with the mountains, lake, and trees of “forest, field and steam” representing our service to community and preservation of nature. The two Guides figures on the left represent father and son and their bond held firm by the earth. The teepee with the sacred fire represents the warmth of the father-son bond to each other within the security of family and home. The two yellow Princesses figures on the right shows the special shared bond between a father and daughter. Beside them is the home as the teepee, with its central circle of family. Below is the lake, symbolizing devotion to community and nature. Finally, our local Federation Tribal Community is connected through the World Wide Web at YIGP.org.
